Our Purpose

The Jarrell Education Foundation solicits, manages and distributes funds for enrichment purposes in program areas not funded by tax dollars. Funding is supplemental and does not replace or alter the use of tax-based revenue. Programs will be funded from donations.

The Jarrell Education Foundation is:

  • Deeply committed to partnering with parents, teachers and the community to support and enhance the education of all students in the Jarrell Independent School District
  • A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors representing a cross-section of citizens who are dedicated to education and share a vision for excellence in our schools
  • A separate legal entity and is governed by state and federal law separate from the school district

What is the Jarrell Education Foundation? 

The Jarrell Education Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Established in 2019, our mission is to enhance student learning through innovative opportunities that promote academic excellence. The foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors representing a cross-section of citizens who are dedicated to education and share a vision for excellence in our schools. The board is deeply committed to partnering with parents, teachers and the community to support and enhance the education of all students in the Jarrell Independent School District. The foundation is a separate legal entity and is governed by state and federal law separate from the school district.

What programs are provided by the Jarrell Education Foundation?

Our programs include:

Classroom Grants (will launch in 2020): Funding for JISD teachers to implement imaginative and progressive teaching initiatives that promote student achievement 

Staff Development (will launch in 2021): Funding for JISD educators to engage in cutting-edge training that refines professional skills and support innovative teaching

Student Enrichment (will launch in 2022): Funding for JISD students that fosters leadership, life skills and character development

How does the Jarrell Education Foundation help students and teachers?

Foundation programs promote educational excellence and enhance lifelong learning. The Jarrell Education Foundation solicits, manages and distributes funds for enrichment purposes in program areas not funded by tax dollars. Funding is supplemental and does not replace or alter the use of tax-based revenue. 

 How are Jarrell Education programs funded?

Our programs are funded through the generosity of individuals and businesses.

Is my donation Tax Deductible? 

Yes! Contributions to the Jarrell Education Foundation are deductible in the manner and to the extent of the law. The Foundation provides funds for enrichment purposes in program areas not funded by tax dollars. Funding is supplemental and does not replace or alter the school district’s use of tax-based revenue.   

 How much of my contribution will be allocated for grants? 

The foundation will have a yearly allocation of 35% for funding grants. 65% will be set aside for the future to guarantee the sustainability of the foundation. 100% of every donated dollar will go directly to our schools for the benefit of JISD students.

Do I need to pay the full amount of my donation at one time?

You can make a one-time annual donation or pledge to give monthly or quarterly depending on what is most convenient for you. By pledging your contribution and paying throughout the year, you can spread out your gift amount to make it work for you and still have the same impact on students and teachers we serve.  Contributions may be made by cash, check or credit card, with final payment due by June 30, 2020. The foundation can send you monthly or quarterly reminders to fulfill your pledge. Please let us know if your employer will match your gift.

If I make a pledge, when is full payment needed?

Full payment for pledges is requested by June 30, 2020. Payment arrangements with each donor are confidential. Payment for pledges to the annual support campaign can be made in convenient installments on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis.

May I honor a loved one through my gift to the Jarrell Education Foundation?
