January is School Board Recognition MonthJarrell ISD will join 1,025 school districts throughout Texas to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month, Superintendent Bill Chapman announced Friday, Jan. 10, 2019 .

“Please join JISD as we celebrate these men and women for serving our district: Crystal Phalen, Board President, Place 2; Jenny Arnold, Vice President, Place 6; Bruce Epstein, Secretary, Place 3; Tookie Mullen, Place 1; Kenneth Leverett, Place 4; Tamara Dozier, Place 5; and Rebecca Kirby, Place 7,” Chapman said.

The theme for 2020 is “Launching the Next Generation,” which highlights that School Boards must focus on the current and future needs of learners.

Serving as a link between the community and classroom, school board members are elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for public schools. The Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees is responsible for an annual budget of $29.5 million, 2,100+ students, 370 employees, and four campuses.

The district will recognize the Board for their contributions to the district at the Wednesday, Jan. 15 meeting at the Admin Annex Cafeteria 508 N. 5th Street in Jarrell (formerly known as the Jarrell Intermediate School cafeteria). Parking is available off of C Street.
