Cold and Flu Season

Important Information About Cold and Flu Season
Posted on 11/18/2019
Cold and Flu Season is here! When reporting your child’s absence from school to the attendance clerk, front office or nurse, please be sure to inform staff if your child is sick with flu or flu-like illness.

A cough or sore throat and/or temperature of 100 degrees or greater are common flu symptoms. Keep in mind...not everyone with the flu will have a fever... Additional symptoms may include chills, body aches, fatigue, and nausea. If your child has been to the doctor and confirmed to have the flu please inform the appropriate campus.

As a reminder, it is Jarrell ISD policy that if a student has a temperature of 100.0 or greater than the student should be excluded from campus (including after school events) until at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever (without the use of fever-reducing medicines such as acetaminophen).
