“After an extensive search and interview process, we are pleased to name Dr. Joe Green as the principal of Jarrell High School,” said Superintendent Dr. Toni Hicks. “His professional background demonstrates a commitment to fostering exceptional experiences for all students, families and staff. His commitment to embedding student and staff voice in creating engaging opportunities makes him a great fit for Cougar Nation.”

Dr. Green has experience working in diverse and fast-growth communities, leading staff development, in addition to coordinating professional learning communities and spearheading social and emotional learning programs. Dr. Green has supervised Career and Technical Education programs and expanded programs that allow students to earn college credit hours while in high school.

Dr. Green joins Jarrell ISD from Lake Travis ISD where he served as an associate principal overseeing curriculum and instruction for Lake Travis High School. He also served as an assistant principal in Dripping Springs ISD for five years. Before becoming a campus administrator, he spent 12 years as a classroom teacher.

“I believe in advocating for students and teachers and empowering them to reach their full potential. I’m truly excited about the present and future opportunities that Jarrell ISD offers, and I can’t wait to get to work.” Dr. Green said.

Dr. Green earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Florida and a Ph.D. from Texas State University.
