Principals Announced

New Elementary Principals: Adrienne Garcia Rodriguez and Lara Hutchinson

Elementary Principals AnnouncedSuperintendent Dr. Toni Hicks announced Adrienne Garcia Rodriguez as the principal of Igo Elementary and Lara Hutchinson as the principal of Jarrell Elementary, following the unanimous approval by the Board of Trustees at their June 9 meeting.

“We warmly welcome Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Hutchinson as the newest members of the Cougar Family,” Hicks said. “In their professional careers, Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Hutchinson have demonstrated their ability to build meaningful relationships, implement effective instructional strategies, and ultimately improve outcomes for all students. Both have experience working in larger, fast-growth districts and understand the opportunities and challenges that come with growth. We are thrilled to have them as the next leaders at Jarrell ISD’s elementary campuses.”

Ms. Rodriguez joins Jarrell ISD with 10 years of campus leadership experience, having served as an associate principal for five years and as an assistant principal for five years. She has worked in Fort Bend ISD, Leander ISD, and Round Rock ISD.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve Igo Elementary as the next principal, and I cannot wait to meet the Cougar community,” Ms. Rodriguez said. “As principal at Igo Elementary, I am committed to nurturing and developing students, partnering with parents, and supporting teachers to create a learning environment where all students feel successful and cared for."

Ms. Rodriguez obtained her bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Southwestern University in Georgetown and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University in Austin.

Ms. Rodriguez will take over as principal for Jack Wilson, who has served Igo Elementary since it opened in 2019. Mr. Wilson announced his retirement earlier this spring.

Lara HutchinsonLara Hutchinson - Jarrell Elementary School
Ms. Hutchinson has served as an assistant principal for seven years in Leander ISD. Additionally, she has more than a decade of classroom teaching experience.

“I am honored to be the next principal of Jarrell Elementary,” Ms. Hutchinson said. “I am so excited to be joining this incredible team of teachers to continue building a positive and supportive environment where students see themselves as lifelong learners. I am committed to creating a culture of excellence, collaboration and inclusion in which every student feels important and families feel supported in creating the best possible future for their children.”

Ms. Hutchinson earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont.

Ms. Hutchinson is stepping into the role as Jarrell Elementary principal following Andrea David’s promotion to lead the district’s special education department.
